CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is a specialised qualification that will provide you with the skills to work in a community and/or residential workplace, offering support to people with disabilities.

This qualification will prepare you for a career within the the community services industry where disability care is the core focus. This could include working as a Community Care Worker or Disability Support Worker.

The HITsa team, along with strong industry connections, will ensure you get the best start to your new career after completing the course and work placement, and gaining a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

Students will need to successfully achieve the following units of competency and undertake a minimum of 120 hours work placement (placement will be organised by HITsa).

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is perfect for people who are wanting to start a career within the disability sector.

It’s also suitable for those who are already working as a disability support worker and wishing to gain a qualification to take the next step in their career.

Available through traineeship arrangement and VET in schools.

Course Details

CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

Work placement will be a minimum of 120 hours
Face to face training will be conducted at

BLENDED DELIVERY

Theory completed online – students will require access to WiFi, computer or laptop
A minimum of 35 face to face training sessions to complete knowledge and practical assessment including manual handling (non-accredited)

HITsa Training and Employment have an operational skill centre to allow participants to practice within a safe environment prior to work placement.

Training will include a mix of theory and practical study.

All participants completing this aged care course must complete a minimum of 120 hours work placement to complete this qualification.

HITsa will arrange suitable work placement with one of our industry partners, once the participant has completed all training requirements.

Work placement will give the participant the opportunity to put training into practice in an employment setting, assisting the transition to employment.

Assessment will include a combination of theory and practical observation (skill centre and work placement).

All course materials including work placement uniform will be provided to the student and access to the internet will be required for self-paced and online activities.

Participants successfully completing all units of training and work placement will be issued with the nationally recognised qualification CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

Participants that do not complete the full qualification will be issued with an Academic Transcript.

Fees and Conditions

CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

Course fee – $2200 (fee for service)

This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List (eligibility criteria applies).

If eligible for subsidised training, a $200 student co-contribution is payment on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the qualification).

All participants will be required to obtain a current (less than 6-month old) National Police Clearance and DCSI screening (Vulnerable Person, Disability and Child Related) https://screening.sa.gov.au/*

Participants need to be aware that evidence of the following may be requirements for successful employment within the sector

Up to date COVID-19 vaccination

Participants will not be able to commence work placement without these documents and will not be able to successfully complete the qualification.
