The Certificate II in Hospitality course provides students with basic skills and knowledge to work as operational staff in various hospitality establishments such as pubs, clubs, and hotels. This qualification can be offered for school-based traineeships for school students enrolled in Year 10, 11 or 12 and employed in a Training Contract that combines VET and school-based curriculum including SACE.

This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List *(eligibility criteria applies)
Fee for service is available for those not eligible Government funded training

SIT20322 – Certificate II in Hospitality

The Certificate II in Hospitality reflects the role of individuals who use a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

This qualification is suitable for VET in Schools delivery and for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

This hospitality course provides students with a base operational qualification.

You must be 18 years or over to undertake some elective units within this qualification which are highlighted with ^.

Successful completion of this course does not guarantee approval as a Responsible Person or a Gaming Attendant/Manager. Approval must be sought through the Licensing Authority.

Course Details

SIT20322 – Certificate II in Hospitality

Course Duration will depend on elective units selected (nominal hours are 363 – 382)

This training is offered through a rolling intake therefore students can commence at any time. A training plan will be developed with the student to include core and elective units prior to enrolment.

This hospitality course will include a mix of self-paced, theory, and practical study and a number of units that can be completed online. Assessment will include a combination of both theory and practical observation.

All Certificate II in Hospitality course materials will be provided to the student and access to the internet will be required for units of training to be completed online.

Course fee – $2000 (fee for service)
This qualification can be offered for school-based traineeships for school students enrolled in Year 10, 11 or 12 and employed in a Training Contract that combines VET and school-based curriculum including SACE *

* This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List (eligibility criteria applies). If eligible for subsidised training, a $200 student co-contribution is payable on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the qualification).
