Cleaning Pre-Employment Program
Are you looking to return to the workforce on a casual basis with no prior industry experience?
HITsa are looking for individuals to train as Cleaners for our aged care providers who will work in the community and/or within an aged care facility.
HITsa will provide training – Get Ready for Cleaning* – funded by the Government of South Australia through JobTrainer.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a difference to lives of older people and work flexible hours with job security.
Essentials:
- Car and licence – if you wish to work as a community cleaner
- Must be able to work 3 days per week, minimum 5 hours per day
- Current COVID vaccination + booster when eligible
- Current Flu vaccination if working within an aged care site
Training will be conducted over three weeks and successful graduates will move into employment after passing a functional assessment and providing the following documentation:
- National police clearance
- DHS Disability Check
- Current First Aid Certificate

Get Ready for Cleaning training includes the following nationally recognised units of training:
- CPPCLO3111 Clean rooms, furniture and fittings
- BSBWHS322X Apply infection prevention and control procedures to own work activities
- CPPCLO3103 Clean and maintain amenities
- CPPCMN3006 Provide effective client service
Upon successful completion, students will be considered for employment with one of our industry partners currently recruiting cleaning workforce.
You must be available to attend an information session with HITsa and a final screening for selection with one of our partners prior to acceptance into training.
Once you complete and send your registration of interest HITsa will be in contact to organise dates for information session and screening.

- Course duration: 3 weeks
Training is funded by the Government of South Australia through JobTrainer – eligibility criteria applies.
Training will be conducted at Clarence Gardens or Parkside, unless otherwise advised.
Training will include a mix of self-paced, theory and practical study.
Assessment will include a combination of both theory and practical observation.
Training will be conducted over three weeks and successful graduates will move into employment after passing a functional assessment and providing the following documentation:
- National police clearance
- DHS Disability Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
