The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Administration Officer (Purchasing) to join our Team in Para Hills West.

In this full time position you will be the go-to person for ensuring an exceptional customer experience by liaising with internal staff and external suppliers. You will be performing administrative duties to facilitate the efficient operation of our purchasing department and will need excellent communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy and strong time management skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing of purchase orders
  • Processing all delivery documents and matching with invoices to be processed in a timely manner
  • Update the internal database with order details, vendors, pricing, and part numbers
  • Communication with suppliers to follow-up on all pending and overdue orders
  • Regularly liaise with warehouse and production staff
  • Data entry and other ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Deliver and forecast the inventory of materials and consumables to maintain continuity of stock levels
  • Sourcing suppliers and quotations as required and maintaining supplier relations
  • Keeping accurate records and databases

To be considered for this opportunity you will ideally have:

  • Demonstrated purchasing experience within manufacturing or industrial services desirable
  • Good understanding of and experience in supply chain process/ procedures
  • Experience liaising with suppliers
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and other inventory management software
  • Accurate and solid organisational skills
  • Well presented, well spoken with a polite phone manner
  • Proactive, driven and able to use initiative
  • Experience within the Home Improvement or Building and Construction industry would be beneficial
