The Opportunity
We have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity available for an Administration Officer. We are not only seeking someone who naturally aligns with our culture but is also connected to contributing to improved outcomes for our Parishes, who are the beating heart of the Diocese.
Reporting to the Synod Operations Manager and working collaboratively with the Ministry and Parish Support team, the Safe Ministry Unit and the Ministry Wellbeing Coordinator and Front of House/Reception you will be responsible for administrative support for Synod Office corporate functions.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal including the ability to effectively communicate, consult and negotiate across a range of stakeholder groups (internal and external) is essential.
Position Description
Title: Administration Officer
Reporting to: Synod Operations Manager
Location: Adelaide, South Australia
SUMMARY
This position provides administrative support for Synod Office corporate functions.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Safe Ministry Administrator
- Ministry Wellbeing Coordinator
- Ministry & Parish Support Officer
- Front of House/Receptionist
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative support across the following corporate functions as required:
- Safe Ministry program
- Processing application forms
- Initiating Working With Children Checks (WWCC)
- Liaison and reporting to parishes
Ministry Wellbeing program
- Data management (Ministry reviews, Professional Development planning, Professional Supervision cycles).
- Organise information sessions, book venues, manage attendance registers
- Provide system reports
- Marketing and communications
Ministry and Parish Support
- Provide a support service to parishes, parish officers, clergy and internal customers on a broad range of church governance and operational matters
- Responding to customer queries in person, by telephone and email in a timely manner
- Providing information and resources and directing queries appropriately.
Front of House/Reception
- Respond to queries in person, by telephone and email in a timely manner.
- Providing information and resources and directing queries appropriately.
- Ordering and receiving delivery of goods
- Opening and directing office mail
QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
- Certificate III in Business or equivalent (preferred)
- Sound knowledge and experience in office management systems and procedures
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications including SharePoint/Teams.
- Ability to set out reports, documents and correspondence.
- CRM system experience (Salesforce and others)
- Media, communications, marketing or similar.
- CMS website updating experience.
- Proven organisational and administrative skills.
- Able to work effectively on multiple tasks and able to meet deadlines.

Other Requirements
The incumbent is required to:
- Be an active member of the Anglican Church or to be supportive of the values of the Anglican Church
- Satisfy the Synod’s Safe Ministry screening process for lay church workers
- Conform to all conditions of appointment, organisational policies and procedures
- Be prepared to travel both intra and interstate as required
