Working for the one of the longest running and most prestigious sporting bodies, the South Australian Rifle Association (SARA) was formed in January 1861. Not only does the association control and administer the sport of long-range target shooting within South Australia, we also operate a store, retailing firearms, ammunition and related products.
Reporting to the SARA Board, the Administration Officer will be responsible for working closely with the association’s staff, contractors, clubs and other state associations. You will be expected to develop, implement, and help achieve the goals and objectives within the organisation’s strategic and operational plan.
In this dynamic role the Administration Officer will provide members with support, direction, and leadership. The Administration Officer will engage with State and Federal government agencies and relevant national bodies.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- The ability to understand and follow complex compliance regulations and to work with highly confidential information.
- An understanding of Work Health & Safety practices.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- Administration skills to ensure compliance with the organisation’s legislative requirements of federal, state and local government laws, bylaws and regulations.
- Communication skills to ensure members, clubs, board members and others are provided with information and updates in a timely manner.
- To work with volunteers to ensure smooth operation of the association – updating web site, online calendars, social media, membership data base with the data base administrator.
- To work with board to arrange meetings, take minutes, prepare reports and action plans.
- To administer the annual club membership returns and annual fees.
- To administer the Lower Light range – club range use remittance, power, accommodation, casual range use etc.
- Ability to write policies and procedures.
- Ability to write grant submissions and manage acquittals.
- Event management skills.
- A working understanding of Microsoft office products and general IT systems
