Our Ideal Candidate has:
- Experience in working with clients who require high and complex physical supports in their daily life, this includes experience in interpretation of clinical plans such as manual handling, meal management, seizure management, bowel care, stoma care etc.
- Experience in working with clients who require positive behaviour support plans. This experience will include interpreting PBS Plans, implementing strategies and reporting on the usage of any restrictive practice. They will have knowledge of the requirement to work in the least restrictive manner. Reporting on restrictive practice usage will also be required.
- VIVA Mutual specialises in working with clients living with dementia, motor neurone disease (high complex physical supports) and Positive Behaviour support areas. The required individuals would have an advanced understanding of these areas of support and be willing to attend ongoing training and professional development.
- The ideal candidate will understand the role of the Quality and Safeguards Commission, have knowledge of NDIS Code of Conduct, industry guidelines, and be committed to providing services in accordance with these standards.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support and service to clients inclusive of personal care, social support, and community access.
- Implementation of clinical plans (e.g manual handling, meal management.)
- Implementation of Positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Promote self-care and self-management, to achieve a maximum level of independence.
- Work in partnership with all members of the multidisciplinary team and report any changes in a client’s mental or physical health, or social conditions, to the relevant professional.
- Work collaboratively within the VIVA Framework and contribute to Self-Managed Team functions.
- Contribute to learning and development and engage in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate 3 in Individual Support, Mental health, disability or related field, or a Diploma in Nursing
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Current Assist with Medication Certificate
Other Requirements:
- The ability to work hours across a 24/7 roster.
- A driving licence and access to a car (Essential) and willingness to travel
- Right to work in Australia
- A valid and current NDIS Worker check
- Working With Children Check
- Safe Environments Training
- Accredited First Aid and CPR training
