We’re on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Support Worker to join our team, providing essential and engaging support for a client residing at the Spence on Light facility, nestled in the heart of Adelaide’s vibrant Light Square.

About the Role
You’ll be supporting an incredible individual—a fun-loving, creative woman with a medical degree and a passion for art and music. With a great sense of humor, she’ll often sing songs sparked by conversations and share witty nicknames for her equipment. A South African native, she speaks multiple languages, primarily English, with Afrikaans occasionally surfacing when she’s overwhelmed.

Shift Times:

  • 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
  • 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

What She’s Looking for in a Support Worker:

  • Engaging, fun, and enjoys a good laugh
  • Detail-oriented and capable of following structured plans
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining a structured routine

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with complex bowel care (ileostomy bag maintenance), catheter management, and showering following structured routines.
  • Domestic Assistance: Cooking, cleaning, and laundry to help maintain her home environment.
  • Community Access: Supporting her to attend appointments, participate in activities, and shop.
  • Mobility Support: Observing for falls and facilitating safe movement, including vehicle transfers with adaptive tools and wheelchair management.

Spence on Light is a multi-level apartment complex located in the bustling heart of Adelaide. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants, Rundle Mall, and excellent public transport options, this location provides endless opportunities for engagement and exploration.

Addition shift opportunities
At the Spence on Light facility, we offer onsite shared supports to ensure all residents receive the best care. As a support worker onboarded for a client in this building, you’ll receive specialised training for the onsite shared supports, giving you valuable skills and insights.

If you’re interested, you’ll also have the opportunity to receive training and support other clients at the facility who use Nextt for their personal care or community access. This means you can backfill shifts that align with your preferences and availability, offering you flexibility and the chance to increase your hours.
