Are you the motivated and dynamic Support Worker we are looking for?

If you’re passionate, care to assist people and you’re skilled in interpersonal relationships, you might just be the person we’re looking for. The candidate must also not have an international accent of any kind due to the client’s specific risks and needs.

We are growing, and we need new Support Workers to join our team! Opportunities available in the Southern or Western Suburbs of Adelaide.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Disability Support Worker who:

  • Has experience working in people’s homes, on a 1:1 basis.
  • Will accept 6.30am starts and active overnight shifts.
  • Will be happy to work shifts that are between 3-6 hours
  • Will provide transport supports to therapies and other appointments, shopping, and social activities as required.
  • Will work unsupervised.

Duties and responsibilities

The specifics of the role depend on the client; however, our Support Workers tend to focus on tasks that promote social connectedness and emotional wellbeing while promoting independence and supporting general health.

  • Assist with outings, social activities and other routines
  • Assist with tasks around the home such as shopping, menu planning, cleaning and cooking
  • Provide companionship and support to our young people to develop their independent living skills and increase their confidence

Workers must be committed to reporting and openly disclosing any suspected or alleged incidents of violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination in accordance with our Incident Management and Reporting Policy.

Essential Qualifications

  • Certificate in Individual Support
  • Certificate in Disability
  • Certificate in Youth Work
  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Safe Environments for Children and Young People

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Documentation

  • 100 points of identification (i.e. Drivers License, Medicare Card, Birth Certificate)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Program
