Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll have the opportunity to:

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Compassionate Connector: Builds meaningful relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

• Calm Under Pressure: Effectively manages and de-escalates challenging situations with patience and confidence.

• Outcome-Focused: Commits to delivering services that focus on achieving positive results for the client.

• Trauma-Informed: Understands the impact of trauma on behavior and adapts their approach to address it.

• Experienced Professional: Has at least 1 year of experience working with children and teenagers in disability or related settings.

• Therapeutic Mindset: Applies therapeutic techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes.

• Flexible & Reliable: Willing to adapt to different shifts and provide consistent, reliable care.

• Communication Skills: Must be stellar—clear, concise, and professional communication is essential.

• Assertive: Confidently assert boundaries while maintaining professionalism and respect.

• Emotionally Resilient: Must not take things personally and be able to maintain a stoic demeanor when faced with challenging behaviors.

• Boundary-Setting: Strong understanding and ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.

• Mental Health Experience: Prior experience working with children facing mental health challenges is essential.

Additional Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience in NDIS or

• 1 year of experience in Child Protection, Residential Houses, or Juvenile Justice settings.

Essential Requirements

• Nationally accredited Certificate III or higher in Disability or Community Services.

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Employee Working with Children Check (current).

• Willingness to obtain a National Police Check.

• Valid Australian driver’s license with a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

• Trauma-Informed Care certification (desirable but not mandatory).
