Job Opportunity: Full-Time Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in someone’s life? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to assist a participant living with Cerebral Palsy with personal care and community activities.

About the Participant:

  • The individual lives in a purpose-built High Physical Support SDA home , supported by a team of 24/7 caregivers.
  • Despite her significant disability, she loves engaging in community activities, including attending concerts, festivals, movies, and family outings.
  • She has a strong relationship with her current support worker and enjoys a busy lifestyle with regular outings and events.

About the Role:

  • Position: Full-Time Support Worker with potential to step into a Team Leader (TL) role.
  • Hours: Ongoing, flexible shifts, including community participation support.
  • Requirements:  Female worker preferred but all is welcome to apply, committed, reliable, and ready to assist with all aspects of care, including personal care and community outings.
  • Ideal Candidate: Must be willing to engage in leisure activities, assist with communication (using devices if necessary), and provide emotional support during stressful situations.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with high complex needs and disabilities.
  • Ability to assist with low verbal communication and communication devices.
  • Experience handling stressful situations and providing calm, empathetic support.
  • Experience with personal care tasks (assisting with hygiene, mobility, etc.) and community participation.
  • Reliable transport and flexibility with shift timings.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not essential):

  • Disability Support, Mental Health, and/or Nursing Skills.
  • Training in complex care (including Tracheostomy, Complex Wounds, Dysphagia, Urinary Catheter, and more).
