We are recruiting home support workers/carers for the night shift to take care of an elderly client at his home.

A bit about the client

Our client is a very pleasant, polite, easy going and respectful gentleman. With a good sense of humour, he is sociable and loves to have a chat.

He walks independently with close supervision but does require staff physical assistance when he is fatigued or walking on uneven surfaces.

Duties include

  • Assist with administrating medications from Webster pack
  • Assist with showering
  • Encourage and supervise with daily exercise
  • Supervise with mobility and transferring and physical assistance when fatigued or unsteady
  • Prepare or cook simple meals or heat up meals with a microwave
  • Make tea, coffee, and juice
  • A little domestic task including laundry and cleaning, etc.
  • Chatting with our client
  • Driving the client’s car, if you are willing to or feel comfortable, you can take him out for a drive during the day, but this is not a mandatory requirement

  • Flexible shift hours. Shifts are ranging from 3 to 15 hours across the 24-hour period, 7 days per week. Hour’s negotiable
  • Full paid training provided including comprehensive induction, RN support, detailed care plan and duty list.
  • Don’t worry, you will never be left alone. We won’t put you on a shift until you feel comfortable and confident. Plus, you can communicate with the RN in person or via email or phone for any questions, debriefing or just simply a catch-up. We understand it can be overwhelming to start a new job, so we support you as much as we can.

  • Always put the client’s safety as a top priority

Qualifications and requirements

  • Certificate III in aged care, disability, community or relevant areas.
  • Experience in aged care or similar areas (desirable) however full training will be provided
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid 19 and flu (evidence required)
  • National police clearance (within 12 months, evidence required)
  • CPR and manual handling certificate required
  • If successful a Pre-employment medical is required
