Eldercare has an exciting opportunity for experienced Lifestyle Support Assistants to join the team at Eldercare The Lodge located in Wayville.

Under the guidance of the Wellbeing Consultant, the Lifestyle Support implements and assists in evaluating lifestyle programs and assists residents to participate in leisure and lifestyle programs while being sensitive to resident needs consistent with our Values and in line with our Mind, Body, Spirit ethos.

About the role:

  • Located at our Wayville site, but with opportunities to work at other sites
  • Casual position

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a vibrant and enthusiastic person to join our high performing team.
  • Hold or in the process of obtaining qualifications related to leisure, health or community services.
  • Experienced in planning and facilitating recreational and leisure pursuits, including themed events and functions.
  • Specific experience in working with Older People, an advantage if experience working with people living with Dementia.
  • Be passionate about enhancing the wellbeing of our residents.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated, showing a willingness to learn.
  • Have great time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to think with initiative and forward planning.
  • Be able to interact positively and intuitively with residents and their families/friends.

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.

As per Eldercare’s Employee Immunisation Policy, all Eldercare employees are required to:

  • Be vaccinated against seasonal influenza by no later than 1 June each year
  • Be vaccinated against COVID-19 as per current ATAGI guidelines

Exemptions on a temporary or permanent basis can only be approved by Eldercare’s Chief Executive.
