Based at Maxwell Wines in McLaren Vale, we are seeking a naturally passionate, energetic and motivated pastry chef who takes great pride in their work and is excited by the opportunity to offer guests exceptional food and dining experiences.

This position would suit an experienced pastry chef that enjoys working within a small talented and motivated team. We are looking for someone who will bring their own identity and creative flare. The role offers creative freedom and input into menu design in a small collaborative team.

Position Details

  • Responsible for the design and development of multiple deserts, petit fours, bread and cheese courses within our multi-course tasting menu and cellar door offering
  • Be a part of a small team aiming to become one of Australia’s best regional restaurants
  • Supporting the Head chef in day-to-day kitchen operations and leading the team in his absence
  • Open for lunch service Fri-Sun and only Saturday nights with the occasional extra days for functions
  • Maintain precise stock control and rotation
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness
  • Delivering high quality fine dining experiences with excellent attention to detail

Applicants must have a passion for food and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

The position requires you to work 4 days per week, Thursday to Sunday and will involve working most weekends and public holidays as it is our busiest time.
