Receptionist/Administration Officer | YMCA

The Receptionist / Administration Officer is responsible for providing high quality receptionist support to YMCA South Australia’s State Office and administrative support to the People and Culture team.  The role requires an individual with strong communication skills, high level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a small and supportive team within a complex, demanding and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide a wide range of day-to-day administrative tasks to support the office
  • Undertake data entry in site/service systems
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding administrative processes
  • Manage the reception desk at YMCA South Australia’s State Office, including answering and distributing all incoming calls and greeting visitors
  • Effectively and efficiently manage customer requests, complaints, and provide general information and advice
  • Update Human Resource databases and worker files as required
  • Assist with Human Resource data entry and auditing
  • Provide administrative support to the People and Culture team as required

Position Requirements / Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Licences – Essential

  • Current National Criminal History Records Check

Personal Abilities and Experience – Essential

  • Strong administration and clerical skills
  • Highly motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service to a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to build professional rapport with a range of individuals
  • Able to work autonomously and as a member of a small close-knit team
  • Sound computer skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to exercise initiative and judgement where procedures are unclear or work tasks require prioritising
  • Able to establish and follow appropriate work procedures

Desirable knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Administration
  • Knowledge of YMCA South Australia’s values and mission
