Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. You will provide essential support and empowerment to vulnerable and at-risk individuals, helping them build life skills, maintain a clean and healthy living environment, and achieve personal goals. You must be passionate about making a positive change and have a strong commitment to duty of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support clients with daily activities including cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Assist clients in developing life skills and participating in community activities.
- Provide safe and effective transportation for clients, including driving larger vehicles (7 to 12 seaters).
- Maintain a high level of hygiene, ensuring cleanliness and organisation in client homes.
- Follow all safety protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
- Be an influential role model, encouraging independence and empowerment in clients.
- Work flexibly to accommodate participants’ needs, including varying schedules.
- Maintain time management and organisational skills to provide consistent, quality support.
Essential Qualifications:
- Have a minimum Certificate 3 in Disability
- Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate.
- Infection Control Certificate.
- Assist with Medication Certificate.
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance.
- Completion of the following NDIS modules:
- NDIS Induction Module.
- NDIS Orientation Module: Quality, Safety, and You.
- NDIS Supporting Affective Communication Module.
- NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meal Module.
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination.
- Police Clearance (National Crime Check).
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar support role, with a passion for helping vulnerable individuals.
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of perseverance.
- Confidence in driving larger vehicles (7 to 12 seaters) and a current SA Driver’s License with a good knowledge of Adelaide and surrounding areas.
- Right to work in Australia (proof required prior to employment, no sponsorship available).
- Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
- Well-groomed, presentable, and maintains good hygiene etiquette.
Additional Information:
- This is a 16-hour-per-week position, with potential for increased hours based on participant requirements.
