Assist with Medications Course

HITsa is now offering this course at 2 sites – Clarence Gardens and Salisbury.

The course is non-accredited and is suitable for people working in the aged care or disability sectors.

If your role doesn’t require the Nationally Recognised unit or you are looking to complete refresher training, this course will be suitable for you.

Our course covers a range of topics including:

  • Prepare to assist with medication
  • Prepare the client for assistance with administration of medication
  • Support client with administration of medication
  • Handle medication contingencies
  • Storage of medications
  • Complete medication distribution and documentation

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attendance and should have a thorough understanding of:

  • Provide assistance with medications to a range of clients with differing care plans and medication needs
  • Adhere to procedures and regulatory requirements for assisting with medication
  • Check medication including expiry dates and dosage instructions
  • Calculate correct dosage

The course is a combination of online and class. Theory is completed online prior to face to face practical day (half a day).

Clarence Gardens – 16 May 2025 from 9.30am to 2.00pm
