Basic Skills for the Food Industry | SSDIS01007
The HITsa Kitchen is about to embark a new intake of students in September for it’s introductory SSDIS01007 Food Industry Skill Set at the Edwardstown Club.
How would you like to be part of a team producing beautiful food in one of South Australia’s restaurants, cafes, bars, resorts or hotels? Or perhaps you want to work in food in a different setting like aged care, childcare or event catering?
Basic Skills for the Food Industry covers all the ‘must know’ basic skills that employers are looking for to get you started or to give you a head start in training for a new career!
In 3 short weeks, students are given the opportunity to attain 5 accredited units, which form part of a SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Units included also form the much sought after SITSS00069 Food Safety Supervisor Skill Set which is only available to existing workers.

Please read student testimony from a previous student of the skill set:
“The Basic Skills for the Food Industry training course is packed in to twelve challenging but enjoyable days!
I learnt so much and the training was a great introduction to work in a commercial kitchen. The training covers a lot of practical and theory skills in a short time and the trainer was an expert in providing friendly guidance with meeting the learning outcomes.
I would recommend this course for anyone who needs an introduction to cooking and also those seeking to become comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment.
A definite confidence builder!”
