Locally run short courses that get local jobs

HITsa Mt Barker always have a range of short courses on offer, and it is local training that changes outlooks, and leads to local jobs.

In early October we ran a prepare and serve coffee course at HITsa Mt Barker. One of our participants, Narelle*, enjoyed herself so much that, by the end of the first day she was excitedly looking into the logistics of buying her own coffee van. HITsa’s barista course is run over three consecutive days, with small class sizes, providing an ideal opportunity for participants to connect with one another. Not only did Narelle learn a new skillset, that she can leverage into an income, she also met, and became friends with Judy* who was in the same class. Narelle is now excited to go into business with her coffee van, and she has found her first employee – Judy, who is keen to pick up some casual weekend work.
