Introduction to Retail & Hospitality

HITsa successfully ran a Stackable VET course this month in partnership with Mark Oliphant College. Students gained valuable skills in hygienic food safety practices and safe food handling, providing them with essential life skills for both personal and professional settings.

In addition, they received training in preparing and serving espresso coffee – an invaluable skill that will benefit them as they enter the job market, especially since employers appreciate candidates who can deliver a great cup of coffee.

To round out their training, students also learned the fundamentals of selling to retail customers and effective engagement strategies for both retail and café environments.

We’re proud of the knowledge and skills these students are gaining, as was the Leader in the Learning Hub at the College who shared this comment on how well the course went;

“I am so pleased at how the course has progressed. Bridge and Lizzy (the Trainers)  have been fantastic with the students and it would be great to work with HITsa again”. Deanne
