Supporting Job Seekers Through Retail Training Success
We’re proud to continue our strong partnership with Jobs Statewide, supporting their Transition to Work clients in achieving their Certificate III in Retail.
This collaboration began in 2024 with a pilot program delivered across Jobs Statewide’s Oaklands, Elizabeth, and Woodville sites. The program ran over seven weeks and was a resounding success, with all participating students successfully completing their qualification.
Following the success of the initial rollout, further programs were delivered in June 2024 and March 2025. The results and positive feedback from these programs saw the model expand interstate, with a pilot program launched at Prahran (Melbourne) in October 2024. This has since led to ongoing delivery at that site into 2025.
The Certificate III in Retail is ideal for individuals seeking employment in the retail sector. It equips students for customer service roles where responsibilities include engaging with customers, maintaining daily store operations, and meeting organisational expectations. The course develops essential workplace skills such as communication, problem-solving, and working independently under limited supervision.

Upon completion, students are well-positioned for roles in a variety of retail environments—supermarkets, department stores, specialty retailers, and quick service restaurants. Additionally, the transferable skills gained through the training can support success in other career pathways where communication and organisation are key.

The qualification is delivered offsite over seven weeks, making it a flexible option for clients ready to step into retail careers.

If you have a group of clients interested in working in the retail industry, please contact Jodie ([email protected]) to discuss how we can support their pathway to employment.
