Student support

  • Student Handbook

Our Student Handbook shares important information about your course, including attendance, assessments, behaviour expectations, support services, and your rights and responsibilities. We encourage all students to read the handbook before starting their course.

  • Wellbeing Support

Your wellbeing matters. We provide a safe and respectful environment where you can talk about challenges that may affect your study. If you need extra support, we can connect you with helpful services and guide you to stay on track. We believe in addressing small issues early to prevent bigger problems later. Learn more about our wellbeing services here.

  • Learning Support

Everyone learns in different ways. If you need help with study skills, literacy and numeracy, understanding assessments, or extra guidance, our trainers and support team are here to assist. We aim to make learning clear, achievable and suited to your needs.

  • Flexible Assessment

We understand that some students may need reasonable adjustments. Where suitable, we can offer flexible assessment options while still meeting course requirements. This may include different formats, extra time or additional guidance. Our focus is fairness and support.

  • Accessibility

HITsa is committed to inclusive education. We support students with disability, learning needs or other access requirements and will work with you to provide reasonable adjustments where possible. All conversations are handled with care and confidentiality. We are also proud to be an NDIS approved service provider.

Student information

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)

All students completing nationally recognised training in Australia must have a USI. Your USI keeps your training records and qualifications safe and easy to access. If you do not yet have a USI, you can apply for one here.

  • SRNI Login

The Snapshot Reading and Numeracy Indicator (SRNI) is a short online assessment used in South Australia to check language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills. It includes 15 reading and 15 numeracy questions and takes about 15–20 minutes to complete. HITsa will guide you through the process and discuss any extra support you may need.

  • DHS Screening (Working with Children Check)

Early Childhood Education and Individual Support qualifications require a valid Department of Human Services (DHS) screening check for Aged Care, Disability Services, Working with Children and Vulnerable People before commencing work placement. You are responsible for applying for and keeping this clearance current. We can help you with the process if needed. Work placement cannot begin without valid clearance, which may affect your course timeline. You can start your DHS Screening here.

  • Police Check

Some courses and placements also require a National Police Check. You may need to provide a current check before starting placement or employment. We will explain the requirements at enrollment and guide you through the process to avoid delays

  • Policies and Procedures

HITsa follows national training standards and regulations. Our policies explain your rights and responsibilities and help ensure fairness and transparency. You can access these documents here.

  • Complaints and Appeals

We are committed to fair and respectful processes. If you have a concern about your training experience, we encourage you to speak with us. We have a clear Complaints and Appeals process to manage issues professionally and promptly. We value feedback as it helps us improve.
