HITsa Charitable Fund Donations 2026

We are very proud and excited to announce the six South Australian Charities we have selected to receive financial support through HITsa Charitable Fund this year. We have met with each charity and have been truly inspired by the work undertaken to support local South Australians.

Since it was established in 2002 HITsa Charitable Fund (formerly Booze Brothers Staff Charitable Fund) has donated over $800k to local South Australian Charities.

Donation Recipients:

Play It On has a vision that every South Australian child should have the opportunity to participate in sport, regardless of their financial situation. Play It On is a registered charity and social enterprise that collects donated sporting equipment, refurbishes it, and sells it at affordable prices through its retail store in Holden Hill. Profits are reinvested to support children and families experiencing financial barriers to sport participation.

The Ryan Bowman Legacy of Care Foundation was established in memory of Ryan Bowman, who passed away in February 2025 at 33 following systemic failures in his palliative and end-of-life care.

We operate across four pillars.

  • Ryan's Voice advocates for a formal carer-initiated clinical escalation framework in South Australian public hospitals.

  • The Ryan Bowman Palliative Care Scholarship supports professional development for nurses working in palliative and end-of-life care across the Limestone Coast.

  • The DAISY Award Programme recognises nurses who deliver extraordinary compassionate care.

  • Ambulance Wish Limestone Coast is a new pillar being developed with local paramedics to fulfil meaningful final wishes for people in the last stages of life.

Based in the Limestone Coast, Four Reasons Why is a grassroots charity supporting vulnerable individuals and families through a range of practical and community-driven initiatives. Their work includes emergency assistance, youth engagement programs, school holiday activities, essential goods distribution and community events that foster connection and inclusion. By addressing immediate needs while strengthening local networks of care, Four Reasons Why helps families navigate crises and rebuild stability.

A volunteer supported charity sharing a love of riding and living life to the fullest. We strive to help young people at risk of not being amazing, empowering them for a successful future.

We work with young people, regardless of circumstances, to realise their full potential through riding bikes with passionate mentors. We aim to instil fundamental life skills and inspire change. We support young people into positive pathways through our diverse range of programs. Lighthouse Youth Projects offers a range of community events, BMX and mountain bike coaching, along with life skills mentoring. Our passion is sharing our skills, energy and enthusiasm with the next generation, encouraging everyone around us to get stoked on life!

Achilles Adelaide is a South Australian charity dedicated to breaking down barriers to participation for people who are blind or have low vision through walking, running and community connection.

As the Adelaide chapter of Achilles International, we provide trained volunteer guides, support, education and opportunities for athletes of all abilities to participate in regular physical activity, social events and community races. Our members range from people taking their first steps towards an active lifestyle through to those training for marathons and major sporting events.

Founded in late 2024, Achilles Adelaide has grown rapidly and now supports a diverse community of athletes and guides who come together each week to improve physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and social connection. Through the power of inclusion, we help people achieve goals they may never have thought possible while fostering a strong sense of belonging and friendship.

The generous support of community partners such as HITsa Charitable Fund helps us continue making walking and running accessible to everyone, regardless of vision loss, and ensures more South Australians can experience the benefits of exercise, independence and connection.

Orange Basket Community Services Limited is a South Australian not-for-profit and public-facing Australian Disability Enterprise creating paid employment pathways for people living with disability. Through our cafés, laundry, confidential paper shredding, and community programs, participants are supported to develop practical workplace skills, confidence, communication, routine, and independence in active community environments.

Our model is centred on real work, real expectations, and real wages. Rather than simulated activities or isolated environments, people are mentored within operational workplaces where they can contribute meaningfully, build capacity, and progress toward supported or open employment. Orange Basket exists to create environments where people living with disability are seen, valued, trained, and paid for the contribution they make.
