The Certificate 3 in Hospitality qualification is available through an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
This means you must be employed under a contract of training. This allows you to learn whilst you earn and is a suitable pathway for those wishing to enter the industry with little to no prior experience.
This training is delivered over the term of the contract of training which for this qualification is a nominal term of 24 months full time or part time equivalent. A timetable will be developed for each trainee as determined by the employer and trainee.
This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List *(eligibility criteria applies) if eligible for subsidised training a $400 student co-contribution is payable on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the qualification)
Fee for service is available for those not eligible Government funded training

This qualification reflects the role of skilled hospitality workers who use a range of well-developed hospitality skills and provide operational advice and support to team members.

What is a traineeship?
A traineeship is a time spent learning a job (or vocation) under supervision. As a trainee, you and your employer sign a formal agreement commonly referred to as a contract of training. This contract is for the length of your employment and training. During this time you will learn on the job (on-job) under your supervisor at your place of work, as well as attend face to face training sessions (off-job) at HITsa Training and Employment and this is how you complete your nationally recognised qualification.

Successful completion of this course does not guarantee approval as a Responsible Person or a Gaming Attendant/Manager.

This training is offered through a rolling intake therefore students can commence at any time.
A training plan will be developed with the student and the employer to include core and elective units prior to enrolment.
Training will be conducted at 353 Cross Road Clarence Gardens unless otherwise advised.
Training will include a mix of self-paced and face to face training sessions.
Assessment will include a combination of both theory and practical observation as well as third party observation.
All course materials will be provided to the student and access to the internet will be required for units of training to be completed online.
