CHCSS00098 – Individual Support – Disability Skill Set

This skill set reflects the skill requirements for providing person centred support to people with a disability in various settings.

Entry Requirements

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who:

hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or related field

Target Group

This skill set is for people working in various care and support roles in the community services sector who wish to develop skills in providing person centred support to people with a disability.

Learning Outcomes

CHCSS00098 – Individual Support – Disability Skill Set

Learners will need to successfully achieve the following units of competency:

CHCDIS001 Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths based approach
CHCDIS002 Follow established person-centred behaviour supports
CHCDIS003 Support community participation and social inclusion
CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with a disability

Participants successfully completing all units of training will be issued with the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment CHCSS00098 Individual Support – Disability Skill Set. Participants that do not complete the full skill set will be issued with an Academic Transcript.

Pathways Information

These units provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package at Certificate III or IV level.

Course Details

CHCSS00098 – Individual Support – Disability Skill Set

CHCSS00098 Individual Support – Disability Skill Set is delivered as follows:

Blended delivery combining online training with 4 face to face training days
Training will be conducted at the following sites
HITsa Training and Employment have an operational skill centre to allow participants to practice within a safe environment.
Training will include a mix of theory and practical study.
Assessment will include a combination of theory and practical observation.
All course materials will be provided to the student and access to the internet will be required for online component.

Fees & Conditions

CHCSS00098 – Individual Support – Disability Skill Set

Course fee – $500 (fee for service)
This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List*. If eligible for subsidised training a $50 student co-contribution is payable on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the skill set).
