This non-accredited training provides participants with skills and knowledge to assist clients with the administration of their medication.

Duration: Theory completed online / ½ day face to face assessment and practical

General Information

This course is designed for those working in the disability sector or aged care. This training is appropriate for those who work in a role that does not require the Nationally Recognised unit of training, or for those needing to complete refresher training.

The course covers a range of topics including:
Prepare to assist with medication
Prepare the client for assistance with administration of medication
Support client with administration of medication
Handle medication contingencies
Storage of medications
Complete medication distribution and documentation

Learning Outcomes

Assist with Medications (Non-accredited)

Upon successful completion, students will have a thorough understanding of:

Provide assistance with medications to a range of clients with differing care plans and medication needs

Adhere to procedures and regulatory requirements for assisting with medication

Check medication, including expiry dates and dosage instructions

Calculate correct dosage

Upon completion of this training students will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
