CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is the entry qualification should you wish to work in the early childhood education and care sector. This qualification also provides a pathway for further study including the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care once you are ready for the next step in your early childhood educator career.

This qualification will provide you with the ability to work in a range of early childhood education settings within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and National Quality Standard and is the starting point for a career within the sector.

Students will need to successfully achieve the following units of competency and undertake a minimum of 160 hours work placement (placement will be organised by HITsa).

Course Details

CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This course runs over 15 weeks full time or part-time equivalent (including a minimum of 160 hours work placement)

Face to face training will be completed over 11 weeks full time or part-time equivalent
Work placement will be completed over 4 weeks (a minimum of 160 hours must be achieved)
Face-to-face training will be conducted at
- Clarence Gardens
- Salisbury

BLENDED DELIVERY OPTION

Theory completed online – students will require access to WiFi, computer or laptop
A minimum of 19 face to face training sessions to complete knowledge and practical assessment
Practical skills days

HITsa Training and Employment have an operational skill centre to allow participants to practice within a safe environment prior to work placement.

Training will include a mix of theory and practical study.

All participants completing this early childhood education and care course must complete a minimum of 160 hours work placement to complete this qualification. HITsa will arrange suitable work placement with one of our industry partners.

Work placement will give the participant the opportunity to put training into practice in a employment setting, assisting the transition to employment.

Assessment will include a combination of theory and practical observation (skill centre and work placement).

All course materials including work placement uniform will be provided to the student and access to the internet will be required for self-paced and online activities.

Participants successfully completing all units of training and work placement will be issued with the nationally recognised qualification CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Participants that do not complete the full qualification will be issued with an Academic Transcript.

CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Course fee – $2200 (fee for service)

This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List (eligibility criteria applies). If eligible for subsidised training, a $300 student co-contribution is payable on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the qualification).

All participants will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check for work placement

Participants need to be aware that evidence of a current seasonal flu vaccination will be required by the sector prior to placement

Participants will not be able to commence work placement without these documents and will not be able to successfully complete the qualification.
