SIR30216 – Certificate III in Retail

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have the primary responsibility of engaging the retail customer, maintaining daily store operations and delivering on organisational expectations. This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as frontline sales assistant, customer service representative, shop assistant, retail supervisor, team leader and senior sales assistant.

This qualification is only offered through a traineeship arrangement.

This means you must be employed under a contract of training. A contract of training allows you to learn whilst you earn and is a suitable pathway for those wishing to enter the industry with little to no prior experience.

Course Details

SIR30216 – Certificate III in Retail

This training is delivered over the term of the contract of training which for this qualification is a nominal term of 12 months full time or part time equivalent. A timetable will be developed for each trainee as determined by the employer and trainee.
This training is offered through a rolling intake so you can commence at any time. A training plan will be developed in consultation with you to include core and elective units prior to enrolment.

Blended Delivery Training will include a mix of self-paced, theory and practical study and all units will require pre-work to be completed online prior to assessment.
Assessment will include a combination of both theory and practical observation.
All course materials will be provided to the student and access to the internet, a computer and camera will be required for virtual training sessions.
Training sessions will generally be after school hours and each session will be a minimum of 2 hours.

This qualification will prepare candidates for working unsupervised and for working in leadership roles, offering the opportunity for greater independence in their work.

SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail is only available through a traineeship arrangement.

Course fee – $1,250.00 (fee for service)
Funded delivery – blended – $200.00*

This course is funded by the State Government through the Subsidised Training List *eligibility criteria applies. If eligible for subsidised training, a $200 student co-contribution is payable on enrolment (this is non-refundable should you decide to withdraw or not complete the qualification).
